Privacy Policy — HERO App

HERO is committed to protecting the privacy of its users, especially since it is designed for children. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and who can access it.

1. Who Uses This App

HERO is an educational English-learning app for children in early elementary school (Grades 1, 2, and 3). Actual use of the app is typically supervised by, or known to, a parent or guardian.

2. Sign-In Methods

The app offers two ways to sign in:

• Guest (Quick Start): No account required. The app creates a local anonymous identifier. No email address or personal identifying information is collected.
• Google Sign-In: If the user chooses to sign in with Google, we receive from Google the account display name, email address, and Google UID. This information is used solely to identify the account and save progress — it is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.

We do NOT collect: phone numbers, precise location data, personal photos, or any government ID.

4. How We Use the Data

• Save the student's progress between app sessions.
• Display a weekly report to the parent inside the app (PIN-protected).
• Improve educational content based on common mistakes (in aggregate, not tied to a publicly disclosed individual identity).

We do not sell any data to third parties, do not use it for advertising, and the app contains no ads of any kind.

5. Where Data Is Stored

All data is stored on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication), Google cloud services with globally recognized security and data-protection standards. See Google's policies: policies.google.com/privacy

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

• We do not require children to enter real personal identifying information (full legal name, phone). Google Sign-In is entirely optional.
• The parent progress report is PIN-protected and not easily accessible to the child.
• There is no chat or user-to-user communication within the app.
• The app contains no in-app purchases or targeted advertising.
• Smart Chat games use pre-authored content only — they are not open conversations with other users or AI services.

• Request access to data associated with your child's account.
• Request full deletion of your child's data from our systems.
• Unlink a Google account and convert it to an anonymous account.
• Ask questions about any part of this policy.
